Matthew is a tutor at the Royal College Of Art. He has a background in engineering and did a masters at RCA in fine art and graduated in 2000.
He studied in Sussex where he designed products for IKEA.
He then went on to designing for people with certain needs, which then led him onto working for B&Q in making products for the elderly. This meant he was making products that everyone was physically able to use.
For his final year project he looked at Coke lids, to find a way to stop it slugging (bottle pourer).
He was also a Fully Hedge consultant for B&Q and was constantly learning techniques and redesigned garden tools such as a rake.
He designed a wall laser for painting, a bbq range, salt and pepper shakers. This work was done for 4/5 years with B&Q.
Matthew also designed the Bladefish – an underwater scooter (2007/8) which is sold for £300-800.
